چکیده

We give here a mathematical context for polynomial cancellation coding, proposed recently to reduce intercarrier interference in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). In particular, we analyze polynomial cancellation coding (PCC) in terms of finite differences.

Dynamic Pricing with Periodic Review and a Finite set of Prices with Cancellation

In this paper, three dynamic pricing models are developed and analyzed. We assume a limited number of a particular asset is offered for sale over a period of time. This asset is perishable and can be an inventory or a manufacturing capacity. During each period, the seller sets a price for this asset. This price is selected from a predetermined discrete set. The maximum amount which a customer i...

Spectral analysis of OFDM signals and its improvement by polynomial cancellation coding

In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, the subcarriers are generated by an inverse discrete Fourier transform (DFT). OFDM has a relatively slow spectral rolloff. In the literature, the spectra of these subcarriers are often represented by a sequence of sinc functions with the same polarity. This does not explain the intercarrier interference (ICI) cancellation properties ...

Polynomial Cancellation Coding of Ofdm to Reduce Intercarrier Interference Due to Doppler Spread

Polynomial cancellation coding (PCC) is a coding method for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in which the information to be transmitted is modulated onto weighted groups of subcarriers rather than onto individual subcarriers. It has previously been shown that PCC substantially reduces the sensitivity of OFDM to carrier frequency offset. In this paper, it is shown that PCC also ...

Amplitude Statistics for Polynomial Cancellation Coded Ofdm Signals

Polynomial cancellation coding (PCC) is a method of mapping data onto the subcarriers of OFDM which results in reduced sensitivity to frequency offset. [1] – [4]. In this paper it is shown that the amplitude statistics for PCC OFDM are different from ordinary OFDM and the statistics are not Gaussian. The results of simulations for OFDM and PCC OFDM are presented. It is shown that the signal sta...

Polar Codes for Channel and Source Coding

Polar codes, introduced recently by Arıkan, are the first family of codes known to achieve capacity of symmetric channels using a low complexity successive cancellation decoder. Although these codes, combined with successive cancellation, are optimal in this respect, their finite-length performance is not record breaking. We discuss several techniques through which their finite-length performan...
